OMG Everyone!!! Check out this most beautiful rendition of Hallelujah by kd at Leonard Cohen's induction into the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame
in 2006.
Not just for how cool and elegant she looks in a lovely black suit- not just for another spectacular performance in front of the writer himself- but for the
most beautiful smile at the end to him - and the acknowledgement from him at the end. Honestly guys- till the day I die- I will never tire of hearing this by
kd. You gotta watch this before it gets taken off YT!!!

I leant over the table to turn up the loudspeaker next to the PC monitor, with my nose barely inches from the screen, and that is the way I sat, completely
mesmorized, for the next 5 minutes.
Beautiful, beautigul. Thank you, Pat. |

Oh Fruity and manon, I am glad you both enjoyed it- there are quite a few clips now of kd singing this and they are all brilliant - but to her see her sing it
right in front of LC- and have a little stumble on the words- I reckon this performance meant a lot to kd. I am guessing the way kd bows to him is a
traditional buddhist one?

it is, patty.
as you may or may not know, leonard spent many year in a buddhist monastery. he found a man whom he deeply respected and wanted to learn from. as he said, it just happened that man was a buddhist monk.

Singing in front of LC must have been daunting, but she did it with her usual panache,eh? And she does look fetching in black..

thanks fruity- there's something very touching and humble about the way kd buries her head in his chest and I love the way he kisses her hands!! I also
spotted Anne Murray in the front row too- another singer kd admired so much.

In a business full of brash people, kd's humility is especially inspiring - it makes her very "real" in the midst of la-la unreality. A nice
lady.

wow, amazing. I've downloaded that clip already and watched it several times to try and see what leonard says to k.d. can anyone lip read?
leonard was so moved by her amazing performance, he must be so proud of the beauty both k.d. and jeff buckley have brought to his song. |

Oh, how a very moving and absolutely beautiful rendition of the song this is. The Juno award sone in 2004 I think, was one of my favorite but this! Thank
you Harley girl for having brought this jewel to our attention. The expressions and body langage of both k.d. and Leonard Cohen at the end tells it all for
sure. I will copy and cherish this and I think I too, want it sung as I am on my dying bed... |

I just had to be sure I wouldn't lose contact.
Until the last possible moment I'll stay in our much-loved old 'home'. 'Hallelujah' for both old and new! |
