 We used to have that thread 'It's a Small World', that Silvertiger started for that reason: a place to put 'non-kd content' items.

Most eggselent idea Shelley.....perfect thread for a catch all of info!
May I share my latest music love?
I see that asha has posted alot of new kd stuff in the last day or 2, and have yet to read thru it all. Might be some kewl stuff there.....lol
Last month, a buddy sent me some Aussie music, that I'd not heard of b4. It rocked my world! I've spent this month, pouring over every song,
learning every inch of them on my guitar. Some of you may already know of these artists, either thru here, or other places, but in case any of you don't, I
want to share them with you.
Be sure to explore both sites fully, and look at their histories and listen to any and all sound bites included. They are both such treasures, and much like
kd did, they have enveloped my life in a new and fun and important way. If you're able to, purchase The Waifs "Brief History", and listen to
the song "Bridal Train".....such a powerful song. I won't say more, but rather wait for those of you that listen to it and get back to me. Then
ask me why it's so special to me!
Missy Higgins is absolooooootly amazing! She single-handedly has brought back my Aussie accent, you'll know why after listening to her sing.

I'd not have known this joy if not for you!
No other news to report on my end - am anxiously awaiting a joy report from the LA/Jag/Bear trip! Is it time yet? LOL

Same-sex legislation passed
Last Updated Tue, 28 Jun 2005 21:33:54 EDT The Liberals' controversial same-sex marriage legislation has passed final reading the House of Commons, sailing through with a vote of 158 for and 133 against. Supported by most members of the Liberals, the Bloc Quebecois and the NDP, the legislation passed easily, making Canada only the third country in the world, after the Netherlands and Belgium, to officially recognize same-sex unions. But the passage of Bill C-38, once again, came with a political price tag for the government. Joe Comuzzi, resigned from the cabinet so he could vote against the bill - an open rebuke of the government legislation. Although he was the only cabinet minister to break ranks with Prime Minister Paul Martin over the controversial plan to legalize the marriage of gays and lesbians, it highlighted the divisions within Canada and the within the Liberal party, pitting supporters of equality rights against those who are defending religious freedoms. The "vote is about the Charter of Rights," said Martin. "We're a nation of minorities and in a nation of minorities you don't cherry-pick rights." *****************************
Naturally, Alberta is pissed about this. That rabid Bush lover, Harper is promising to get the law overturned as soon as he is PM.

 martha wainwright is touring
australia.......so far the only date
announced is brisvegas .....hopefully she will
add a few more!......anyone who hasnt heard her...take shelley's advice and have a listen.

 It was actually, from the link on her site, that I was able to find Kris Delmhorst . I'm going to buy something ( probably the
Hurricane album ) and listen a lot. Her voice appeals to me more than Catie's, even.

first time I heard Joss Stone in the Live 8 musicians samples...she has a great sound. Read she is only 17 but sounds a lot older.
