Oh Lisa, I well know that when you don't have it, love seems the only thing that matters and all the other beautiful aspects of being alive are somewhat (and in spite of our efforts) spoiled. And yet when you finally get it, that elusive feeling called love, you soon realize that what you feel does not necessarily fit the definition we were taugh it should be. Love is everything yes, but only when taken in a broader sense. The other more sought after aspect, is mostly our need to be reassured as to our worth and reasons for being and our innate need of possesion of another being ( very much like refusing to part with a well loved stuffed animal just like the children we never really or so seldom ,stop to be ) Amen

All this to say that please don't spoil the very many happy moments that life has ready for you as I did while waiting for the great thing...

For me it is k.d. from Friday Dance promenade to Watershed again and again too I am afraid. With a few classical pieces in between but just a few and I confess tango sometimes. But mostly k.d. Just can't get enough of her otherworldly voice... I was besides myself with joy yesterday as I was listening to the radio while grooming one of our dogs in the basement when I heard a very well known and respected singer here talk about the albums she appreciated most in 2008 and as I was hoping against hope that she would mention Watershed, she did and went on to say that the performance she saw in late Spring was an " extraordinary one " It would seem that a lot of knowledgeable people in the field were there also. It is useless to give their names because they would be unknown to you but it does say a lot about the esteem they obviously have for her and their various comments in the medias were all very positive. They were obviously under her charm which is considerable as we all know here. So, I was so childishly pleased to hear the piece Sunday that she chose afterwards that I could not resist sending her a short email of thanks.
