07/10/08 15:07:00	Tags : None Since October is breast cancer awareness month I just wanted to send my love to anyone here that has dealt with this awful illness, or knows someone who has. It runs in my family and I've lost a few great women to it Hopefully soon, they'll find a cure. I usually donate money to the cause and this year I did so in the form of this shirt: My aunt always said to have a sense of humor about it, so this shirt is for her. And I'll wear it with pride xoxoxo Cora

07/10/08 19:40:00	hear, hear, cora! a woman who means a great deal to me, and has done for over four decades, has battled this pernicious disease for several years: two bouts of breast cancer which eventually spread to other parts of her body in sequence. rather like an evil game of whack-a-mole, no sooner was one area seemingly free than up cropped the disease in another. it has now progressed to her brain. and through it all, she has displayed the grit and good humour which drew me to her all those years ago. here's to you, m.i., and to all you brave women and men (yes, it does strike men). we are with you as much as we can be.

07/10/08 21:09:00	Sweet of you Cora and be careful too, there is a part of heredity in this form of cancer I believe.... I so much love breasts. in all shapes and sizes. From the erotical point of view but also and foremost for what they exist for. There is nothing more beautiful I think than a mother breast-feeding her child. So much giving and tenderness. I could become very eloquent on this subject but this is not the point here. Yes, all my admiration and love to these women who are fighting the dreadful disease. And let us pray( although I am not the praying type! but I could pray for that particular cause) that they find a cure,soon, soon. I give my daughters a lot of soy protein in various form as it is supposed to be helpful to prevent breast cancer when taken before puberty. I have my doubts but it cannot hurt, so. And yes almost forgot to tell you that your t-shirt is very cute! Chantal

08/10/08 00:56:00	Cora and fruity I feel your pain. I too lost family to the disease before being diagnosed myself. Having a sense of humour definately got me through the hard times. The treatment was the worst though cause I got chemotherapy and radiotherapy which destroyed my thyroid gland and within the space of 18 months I had gained 8 stones in weight which I am still struggling to lose. All my features changed ........but you know what I'm one of the lucky ones and I've had a boob job one of them so I will only need to get one done if I ever want to go under the knife.

08/10/08 04:04:00	It never ceases to amaze me how so many people are affected by this horrible disease. Also the humility with which they approach the outcome of their life changing experiences. My mum bless her had a breast removed and is fine now. It certainly puts all my trivial problems which seem so insignificant compared to the trauma suffered by all those brave cancer victims out there. Absent healing to you all with my love. Caz x

08/10/08 13:14:00	caz you will agree it's such a worrying time and I'm glad your mum is well. pat thanks for your kind thoughts and wishes fruity you have also been touched by the big C personaly and physically and I hope you are keeping well also I feel like a big fraud cause I have just come out of remission and i am doing well......my thoughts go to the people who are living the hell just now. So may they all find the inner strength to cope knowing that we at kf wish them all well wherever they may be

09/10/08 00:39:00	My guardian angel was with me, no doubt, In 1990 after not having a mamogram for years, I suddenly decided to get one, who knows why, anyhow the mamogram found a suspicious lump. I went to my surgeon, he had a biopsy done and found it to be malignant. I had lumpectomy with 36 radiation treatment and I am still here. Never needed any chemo. it is early detection that really matters. So please have one done, it is so important! m.e.
