Hello everyone,
We are currently in the process of moving all Yuku communities to our new set-up. This move is expected to go quickly and smoothly, though a couple of issues are to be expected. Please read this announcement carefully.
Posting during the move.
We are moving from the old colo centre to our new set-up. DNS takes up to 24 hours to update. During that time, posting may be happening in both locations. More specific, this means that you could be replying to topic #260 in one location, which is already topic #261 in the new location. As a result, replies could be added to the wrong topics.
Should you wish to avoid this, we can put the maintenance screen up at your community, or you can simply make an announcement, letting your members know about this. Once the DNS has updated, this issue will disappear.
If you prefer to have us put the maintenance screen on your community immediately after the move, please submit a ticket
Chat rooms
All boards will get a brand new chat room with additional options and (optionally) games. We will post tutorials at our knowledgebase as soon as possible.
You will not be able to connect to the old chat room on your communities. Please delete the old chat room and create a new one after your community has been moved.
Notifications
Notifications will be turned off on moved communities until the move has been completed for all communities.
Thank you for your patience.
All members will need to sign in again after the community has moved. If you are posting on multiple communities and they are not all moved to the new set-up yet, you will need to sign in separately. The login to the communities and the profiles will also be separate until everything has been moved over.
Should you experience login issues, please submit a ticket so that we can help you.
On the same note, you may want to prepare by adding a secret question and answer to your account if you don't have one already.
Search
Search will start working shortly after your community has been moved. We do not expect any issues there. Should you, however, see any issues, please contact us at the help desk
Knowing when your community has been moved
To find out whether your community has been moved or not, hover over the word Yuku in the footer of the community. If you see cdb, followed by a number, then you are not moved. If you see c followed by a number, then you are moved.
To see an example of a moved community, please hover over Yuku at the bottom here:
http://yukitagazette.yuku.com/
Some of my members are seeing different things
It means that for some members the DNS has updated, but for others it has not. Some may still be looking at the board in the old settings. Ask members to hover over Yuku at the bottom of the board. If they still see cdb instead of c, best is to hold off on posting or trying to access the chat room, and wait. Refresh and check regularly. This should last no more than 24 hours.
Please immediately report any issues you might experience. ALL reports should go to the help desk
