It is hard to understand the problem.
The show was on TV for anyone to see and copy.
There is no commercial video available whose sales are being undermined by having people post it on YouTube and record it from there if they can't do so directly from the TV.
No-one was offering it for illegal sale as far as I know. It was just being shared and enjoyed by people who can't get NBC.
Anyone can now see the show on line at the website.
So who is being harmed?

We must remember that Jay Leno, and no-one else since the heady days of Ingenue when she was constantly on TV, has always featured kd on his show whenever she has had a new single or album to promote.  Apart from the time of the screen writers strike, he has never failed.

It is true that it would have been even better, especially now she has released a retrospective of a very long career if he had also interviewed her but where are all the other interviewers on American TV in kd's career now? There are a huge number of shows on American TV featuring interviews and live music.

Let's face it, she is a pretty obscure artist these days as reviewers have pointed out, due to years of Management neglect.

I suppose in a way the rarity of the appearance  makes it all the more sad that a record of it to be enjoyed by others in the future is removed but it has been a whole lot better than nothing!
