I'm not Abs. Sorry
Why does she appear to have such a disregard for her fans? Is she happy with the way she is managed/promoted? Will she write another album with Ben Mink? Would she, just for me, sing Even Now by Barry Manilow?

hahaha!
i think we can guess the direction the doctor's query might take.
![]() until her arrival, here are a few thoughts:
1. it would seem that you use your voice differently than you did years ago. has this been a conscious choice?
2. the practice of buddhism encourages a certain detachment, a kind of letting go, while still being very much in the world. has this allowed you a greater sense of flexibility in your career than you might otherwise have felt? 3. rufus wainwright has recently created an opera. might you be interested in going in that direction? 4. is there a particular kind of venue you prefer? you've said you love performing in 'soft seat' performance halls. do you prefer them to smaller, more intimate clubs? if so, is this based on acoustics? |

5. what lessons have your dogs taught you? 6. it seems that your siblings are able to maintain their privacy despite your well-deserved prominence. has it been difficult for them to do so? |

1. Have you ever worked out an alternate ending for Harold and Maude?
2. How do you feel about growing older?... seeing gray in your own hair, not seeing the little type on some things, and the other things that don't work the same way they used to. 3. Do you have a pick for the Superbowl and do you make a favorite game day food? 4. In interviews, the Dalai Lama's doesn't seem to be very open to the idea of sexually active gay and lesbian buddhists... is your california sangha more tolerant about that possibility? 5. You are on record with somewhat different comments regarding marriage... since California has been through so much, what do you think about it now? 6. Though it matches nicely with the wedding dress at those early Junos, why was your first single white?

One last one...
7. Have you ever considered getting someone in your management or a tech-friendly friend to correct and keep an eye on your Wikipedia entry because there are lazy reporters that use that site's information in articles and they keep quoting the incorrect part of that entry that says you got your start in the American music scene by being a back-up singer for Roy Orbison. It seems like s a disservice to people like Owen Bradley and others who were involved in your earlier days in Nashville. |

I would say to kd that neither she, nor her fans have been served by her Management or PR for many years, to the detriment of both.
I would ask her whether she is aware of how difficult it has been over the years to keep in touch with what she has been doing professionally....prompt and correct information about concerts, TV appearances, album and singles releases, interviews and even overseas promotional visits have not been mentioned on an official website that has has caused dismay to those who have wished her success and still does. The problem has been made all the worse by her poor visibility elsewhere in adverts. and so forth. The importance of comprehensive, accurate and courteous information cannot be overestimated and sadly that has been totally lacking. A look at the Recollection topic on this website will give an idea of how fans feel and why. Her official website which should have been her shop window on the world has singularly failed to fulfill its essential purpose. It has been a sad saga. She and we deserve better. |

The question/s I would like to ask kd is/are:
You are a very spiritual person and this shines through in your performances with the respect the audience has when you sing. When you perform there is always a great spiritual outreach with your arms to up above. Do you feel that your voice is a gift you are always aware comes from a higher plain. If so, do you feel the power of your voice surges from there? When your followers send you gifts or hand them to your crew, do you ever receive them. If they are personal to you, do you ever acknowledge them with a brief note? I know you are very protective of your voice (and we all appreciate the result) , but do you do anything else to try and preserve it other than not speaking unless you have to. For instance is there a favourite drink or concoction that you swear by to see you through? Have you ever sold, or considered selling, any of your personal art as a second string to your bow, or to help raise money for worthy causes close to your heart? ![]() ![]()

1. how do you feel about bananas?
2. how have bananas influenced your musical choices? 3. why don't you have more songs about bananas? 4. why doesn't your website mention more about bananas? and finally, though it's not banana related so i can't imagine it would have any significance: do you get a certain feeling in your body/mind when you know a song you're writing is complete? and do you get a feeling when you know a painting is complete? is there a similarity in the two experiences? ![]() |

all due respect doc, but i sincerely hope that the interviewer does not directly quote the comments re: dissatisfaction with kd's marketing/management. i think a lot of it is off-putting to say the least, and i have to disagree with you that it's a problem we all want kd to be confronted with. i think if brought to her in the wrong way, it will backfire badly.
i don't mind having a go once in a while at her crap website, but this whole discussion about the decline of her career makes no sense to me. kd's career trajectory is fine, i think, and i suspect it is where she wants it to be. i highly doubt kd is interested in any kind of celine dion type global divahood. her managers (criminal bookkeeper notwithstanding) do what she tells them to do. end of story. i hope there was more to this thread than furthering the agenda of lodging a complaint with kd. i like many of the questions posed here and hope they are asked. and of course i realize that some topics, such as the topic of the noble banana, are misunderstood and won't make their way to the top of the list. ![]() |

I'm hoping a self-respecting journalist would know how to broach, what is after all, a sensitive subject. Nevertheless, it's a question l would like asked and answered. Perhaps not in this particular setting, but then we didn't know then what we know now.
If l were permitted an interview, l'd definitely ask her. It doesn't have to be confrontational. I'd love to know what kd thinks. I don't see kd as naive but l definitely feel a sense of 'laziness about her.

I would think, dealing with kd in any way, should be handled sensitively, but especially if you are questioning her career in any way.

I have just read that two responses had been deleted.....I am not making any judgments but am simply asking if there is a barometer of decorum we should be following? I do not wish to cross over those lines here KF so as I am new to the site is there some basic standards we should be adhereing to?
