Bring bring!! bring bring!! ..............Ah nar!!.........where's me mobile. Eventually remembering I had plugged it in for a charge up, I answer it................
'Hulloo' says a Scottish accent, 'it's Haz. Did ya get ma text' ................
'Erm, no, why what's up'.
'Well we are just travelling back from Scotland and we are in your neck of the woods.............. wondered if you'd like to meet up'.
At this point I had just remembered putting my washing on earlier. Whoops !! all my over the shoulder boulder holders had been put in for a wash. I'll have to improvise.
'We're in the camper van........whatdya reckon, or are you doing something at the moment'
Well apart from NOT watching the Eurovision, politically motivated and we never win it, good song or not, Song Contest or Britain's Got Talent nothing really.
'I'm doing nowt at the moment, so yer ok'.
Fifteen minutes later, up rolls a very swish and impressive camper van, driven by Haz and passengered by Jo. Hugs all round, the meet started off with a tour of the very compact and spacious camper. A place for everything and everything in it's place. Neat, very neat. Plus an introduction to Scooby Doo and the Monkey Boys !!
A quick look and inspection of kd car in the flesh.............photo opportunity taken.............uh huh!! Everyone aboard the camper clunk! clunk! clunk! and we're off.
A quick tour of Milton Keynes was offered and taken up.
Go GAY MK on your right.........Pink Punters on yer left (note the rainbow bus).........a slight wiz up the A5 to Woburn...........Ah look at all the deer........loads of them all taking the last chew of the grass before evening falls. All the stags antlers had the velvet covering on them.........a doe and a buck were rearing up...........a beautiful sight it was. There must have been about 100 of them scattered over the park, a few muntjacs and some rabbits.
U turn on the other side of the cattle grid and back to view them once more.
Through Woburn village, a quick shifty at the place where I work and on to the City centre. On yer left the air sky diving tower and 'the slug' (houses the snow dome ski slope, cineworld and loads of eating places and nightclubs) on yer right the theatre district. On yer right, The Point.
On yer left, Gullivers Land (naff version of an amusement park), and an eco park. On yer left again Willen retirement village.......long waiting list to get in there. Now on yer right the Peace Pagoda.
The decided menu of choice for the evening was battered sausage and mushy peas for Haz and Jo and fishcake and chips for me.
'There's a nice little lake at Caldecotte where we can park up' sez I. 'Great stuff' sez Haz and Jo. Screech..........we arrive!
Now I know what Haz and Jo want for Christmas..........tomato sauce, brown sauce, vinegar, mayo and salad cream sachets plus salt, pepper, mustard, white sugar and brown sugar sachets from any restaurant/roadside service station for their supply cupboard.
Following our food intake .........Haz asks, 'Caz, would you like a tea or coffee or something. We have tea, decaf tea, coffee, decaf coffee, chocolate, decaf chocolate or a selection of fruity tea infusions'. Well with an offer like that, what is a girl to say? Drinks consumed and washing up done, Haz whips out her dongle and shoves it in the notepad. A look at kf on the camper van tour takes place ............really neat I must say............I'm very impressed with the whole layout. Very nice yous two. A great deal of laughter and chatter later we decide it's time to move on, before we got moved on.
Haz and Jo, it was great to meet up with you on spec like that.................look forward to doing it again on the old chopper bikes in Basildonk............can't wait!! Thank you both.
MK Dons stadium, The concrete cows, the MK Bowl concert venue and Bletchley Park
