deb, thank you and please thank amy for offering us these wonderful slices of her trip.
you know, sometimes you just have to shake your head at life's synchronicities. as it happens, i
have been reading a good deal about pondi lately and have obtained some interesting images via google, but to have a three-part slide show of the area first
thing today? very cool!
a few thoughts:
1. the little kids in vid 2 are adorable, especially the one making birdman eye-goggles with his
fingers.
2. amy and her indian friend are lovely young women, both physically and spiritually. what a delight
to see them together. i love that they did mehndi for each other.
3. will amy get her nostril pierced? (fruitcake says, oh, do, amy!).
4. i have to thank her for being a part of habitat for humanity. it is a good organisation doing
very important work.
thanks again, deb & amy!

Deb,
That's really interesting! Thanks for sharing. As an extra added bonus (for me) Amy used one of my favorite George Harrison songs for the music in the
first video. ("The Inner Light")

Thanks fruitcake and Squidtoaster!
No, I don't think Amy will do a nose piercing, she never mentioned it anyways. I will ask her though. She has been learning mendi for quite a while
and was thrilled to be able to do this with her friend. She incorprated their 2 names and I believe the word friendship...into the one she drew on her
friend. Squid, she loves the Beatles, they are her favorite music.

well, regarding the nose pierce, i suppose i was being a bit facetious. but i couldn't help
notice that all the woman in pondi, including amy's friend, had pierced nostrils. i remember seeing that when i was very young and loving the way it
looked immediately. it hardly looks comparable on me, but i'm glad i did it nonetheless.
as to mehndi, how wonderful that amy has that skill. how long does it stay on? has she ever done
your hand?

I think the mehndi stays on about 2 weeks, sometimes a bit longer. I believe it depends on how good the henna mix is, and how long it is left on the skin
when first applying it. She does it fairly often to her hands and feet, so I am used to it being a part of her.
She has asked me if I wanted it done, but I declined.
