I thought it might be good to have a topic specifically for the dates in the upcoming New Year, 2012.

So far officially confirmed 2012 dates via kdlang.com are:

23/6/12 Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Telluride, CO. Ticket info: http://shop.bluegrass.com...n_page=index&cPath=3

30/6/12 Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival, Laytonville, CA. Ticket info: http://www.cumuluspresents.com/tickets_venues.html

There are also two which were confirmed by kd on twitter (thanks go to gahjeanne for spotting dates and asking!) but not yet up on kd's official website so possibly still subject to change:

05/8/12 Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Thunder Bay, ON.

05/12/12 Harris Theatre For Music And Dance. Chicago, IL.

The final date floating around has been confirmed by neither kdlang.com nor kd herself but she is billed as appearing:

06/03/12 Spoleto Festival. Charleston, SC.

All appear to be N.American Festivals so far but fingers crossed they throw in some kdsbb concert dates along the way since they are out and about anyway!!! smiley: happy

What would people recommend: for the Kate Wolf festival, I was planning on buying a single day ticket (because k.d. is really the only person on the line-up I'm interested in) but you can't buy single day tickets till May 23rd. Is there any chance that they'd sell out before then? I've been to plenty of concerts in the city, but I've never been to a festival before, and I don't know this area at all, so I'm not sure what to expect for this one. Thanks in advance for any advice!

festivals are opened seating rather than reserved, so you could buy a ticket for just that day, but expext to show up early if you want to get near the stage. Layton is a small community north of San Fran that is out in the mountains. it is very similar to the Edmonton Music festival kd and the siss boom bang performed at last year.Parking is out in the boondocks and expect to walk in dirt. As far as selling out, you take your chances.

i'm really hoping she doesn't stick to festivals in 2012. so far that's what's been announced. they are not my preference (to say the least) but she does seem to love them, so we shall see.

I'm super excited at the possibility of more tour dates! Also excited that since she won't be touring to support a particular album (I assume), that the song list might be a bit more diverse....? It would be amazing to hear some of the oldies but goodies. But anything she wants to sing, I'll happily listen.
