OMG Everyone!!! Check out this most beautiful rendition of Hallelujah by kd at Leonard Cohen's induction into the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame
in 2006.
Not just for how cool and elegant she looks in a lovely black suit- not just for another spectacular performance in front of the writer himself- but for the
most beautiful smile at the end to him - and the acknowledgement from him at the end. Honestly guys- till the day I die- I will never tire of hearing this by
kd. You gotta watch this before it gets taken off YT!!!

Yes, fools! Or maybe it had something to do with how kd looks and whether that was thought to be too uncommercial for a James Bond film in which case, why ask her in the first place?

Robin & capi---You two are my buds for sure!!!! :x LA---you too, girl!!!!
"Till the Heart Caves In" is in the top 5 of my fave k.d. songs. She sings it so beautifully and with so much meaning---it is all about hopelessness and destitution, after all, and I can feel her almost collapsing under the weight of it every time I hear her pour her heart into it. It's not a feel good song and at times I have to stop replaying it because of the mood it plunges me into and the tears that inevitably follow. But, OMG!!!, the way k.d. sings it just completely overtakes me.

Thank you eaglelady for that video. Here is one that is a promotional video for Watershed. I like the interview parts woven in-I learned a lot. Like her Mom thinking she would make a good Physical Ed teacher because of her physique. lol.

I add my thanks to Eaglelady & Scrappy.
I agree with Beppy, even though I've seen some of these things before I love seeing this stuff again...and getting to save things digitally to eventually make my own DVDs of clips etc is also a bonus. |

I like the promo video too because it is calming and at the end, she says that she has this internal stitch that says yes or no ad what is best for her voice. I think we all have a switch inside that says this is best for us or not but sometimes we have to listen. there is something about kd's music that makes we want to listen to what goes on isnide me.

ARGHHHHH! the vid keeps stopping at the 3:24 mark!!! I can't see the end!!! ARGHHHHHH!! suggestions??
I think k.d. would have made of great phys. ed. teacher!!! But she's affecting many more people in a very positive way by singing. I can't imagine that voice laying dormant. |

Thank goodness kd listened to her inner self & chose singing.
I couldn't imagine kd not singing. It's a huge part of who she is. Always has been, always will be. Her voice is like no other. Thank goodness the nun suggested singing. Phys' teacher? Yeah, she would have been an awesome teacher. A singer? The best this world has ever heard. Hopefully kd will still be singing at the age of 98. (or more). . |

TAnnie, the video stops and starts because it is supposed to. If this is not what you are referring to, l suggest you try again later. Often clips wont play for me but usually do eventually.

Yippee!!!! Success!!!!
It finally played all the way through!!! I'd never seen this one before so thanks to whoever posted it---let me scroll backwards and see who it was--oh yeah, scrappy-do!!! Thanks, scrapp!!!!! Love k.d.'s reference to having a little inner yes or no switch----some of us would call that listening to God's voice advising us. |

Isn't it strange that kd sings that song. Fred, her dad. Johnny her brother. I wonder what that means?

Oh, I don't think it means anything, as the lyrics - with those names - were written long before k.d. did the song. ( She just did it,as she does everything, better ...

Browsing in a thrift store I found a copy of Red Hot and Blue ( VHS 1990 ) with k.d. s heartbreaking performance of So In Love.
If someone would like to have it, please let me know. I don't need/want to keep it. |
