24/10/09 12:45:57	Yes, soozie, that video is in French. It was made by a French/German TV company "ARTE". They send on 2 channels, one in French, one in German. This was filmed when kd was in Hamburg, Germany at the beginning of 2008 which I didn't know about. (Why not? Probably because her PR is miserable) The "Hamburger Tafel" (Tafel = table) is a charity organisation run by volunteers to provide meals for homeless people and for those who live on an absolute minimum. The food (fruit, vegetables etc.) is provided by the food markets, restaurants, etc. and is then cooked by the volunteers or distributed directly to the needy. This is all controlled by church organisations, Aids hospices, etc. etc. kd was a volunteer for a day. The video is also about her social engagement e.g. aids charities.

25/10/09 11:09:11	Thanks for that background, Manon. I guessed k.d. was doing some sort of voluntary work, and that it hadn't been filmed too long ago - going by the hairstyle and the now necessity of wearing specs. Something that happens to us all as we get older, I think.

A photograph of the session appeared in Obvious Gossip all those years ago with no information about the song itself and it remained obscure. kd's contribution was fairly minimal or at the very least, not exactly "equal" and the song isn't great which perhaps explains its obscurity but nevertheless it is interesting to see it for us Collectors. Thank you Shelley.

That's stoopid.......Basically, it was a clip of a Canadian comedy show here, called "This Hour has 22 Minutes", they did a parody song, featuring a few famous Canadian performers, among them kd lang, singing about getting the flu shot for the H1N1 virus that was funny...I wish there was a way for everyone to see it, unfortunately, I have no way of figuring out how to do that......I'm sorry *Love is touching souls, well surely you've touched mine* - kd lang
