this badass looking guy is actually the nice lad named johnny who played guitar on kd's live in sydney tour video. at the 8.57 time mark he talks about touring with kd and what he has learned during this tour.

My labelling of footage can continue. Which is good, because I'm trying to put off my next job, of transferring family videos, for as long as possible. When the choice is kd, or going through footage of aunts and uncles at boring family get-togethers over the last 25 years, I know which one I prefer.

Hmm... I think I recognise the show you're talking about - that was a distinctive backdrop. If it's the same one as shown in the screengrab below, then we're talking about 1990 and an hour long programme on Channel 4. I think it was called New West and was presented by Tracey MacLeod. Loving all the videos as usual.

In recent weeks I've very, very slowly been transferring kd footage from VHS to DVD finally using my combi VHS/DVD recorder for the reason I bought it.
It's a bit of a headache as I have bits of footage here and there.
There's one performance I came across that I have no idea where it was or when it was and it didn't have the complete end titles to help. (Sorry I'm not techy enough to put it on youtube)
It was about an 45min-1hour show in total...possibly split into two progs,(I think I came across other bits of it on another tape) I'd make a guess and say it was from 1989-1991...kd's wearing a plain navy blue suit. But the thing that jumped out at me, was the end of one of the songs kd smashes a tambourine to the floor, completely trashing it! It was one of the 'concerts' where she performed Johnny Get Angry...

Abstorch, your journey to Berlin sounds wonderful. That was the first place I saw kd. Unfortunately the Pergamon was still being renovated when I was there. I must go back again.

Can't remember if we've had this one before, but anyway it's lervely. And confusedtofu, just for you, please see 3.09. I remember you saying on the melting moments thread that kd's 'hhhhhhhhhhhurt' was particularly dear to your heart and this one's a cracker.

Thank you for all of those. I had not seen the German one before. I will have to take a crash course in the language.

We have just had four days in Berlin and one in Potsdam and very interesting and enjoyable it all was. Even the weather was kind, despite the forecast.
For an Ancient History enthusiast like me, seeing the bust of Nefertiti in the wonderful Egyptian Museum and the Ishtar Gates of Babylon and Temple of Zeus from Pergamon in the fantastic Pergamon Museum were possibly the highlights. Also seeing the excellent Jewish Museum showing 2,000 years of history and the splendid palaces and wonderful paintings in the different galleries was all well worth while, as was seeing the Wall covered in paintings. 15f3609c4f8946b9fb5f3bc7fc33f8465020e261

Hello, hello. Never seen this trio performance before.

Lots to enjoy in this early '92 vid : Ben's comb-over, kd actually singing with her eyes open, Teddy Borowicki being the most Zen keyboard player ever... But what were MTV thinking... ? Pointlessly cutting to the eejit presenter cavorting like a moron when we could all have been enjoying the end of the bleeding song... ? Grrrr...

OMG Everyone!!! Check out this most beautiful rendition of Hallelujah by kd at Leonard Cohen's induction into the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2006.

Not just for how cool and elegant she looks in a lovely black suit- not just for another spectacular performance in front of the writer himself- but for the most beautiful smile at the end to him - and the acknowledgement from him at the end. Honestly guys- till the day I die- I will never tire of hearing this by kd. You gotta watch this before it gets taken off YT!!!
