I'M BACK IN THE CHATROOM!!!!!!!!! I tried again just now and for the first time in two weeks I didn't get a blank page, not having done anything new!

I quickly emailed the man at Yuku to tell him the good news as he had been so helpful and was very apologetic.

So the cause of the problem was a mystery and the cure was too.
Funny things, computers!

I cannot fault the efforts of the person at Yuku who has tried to help me.
He has emailed me every day for about ten days now.

In fact he suggested doing more than I should have done, namely resetting Internet Explorer back to its Default setting. Only after I did that ( and it didn't help the problem) did I notice it said that should only be done if it had become totally unstable and unusable, so I went back to reset Advanced settings. Stupidly I had not noted down what had been ticked before. I don't even know for certain that I was on Advanced settings before. I then found I could not post moving Smilies so he told me how to deal with that( as you see) but, although he is still giving me suggestions to try, I really have lost my nerve and don't want to fiddle any more.

I have updated Java and Flash, fiddled with things in Flash macromedia and goodness...

I am having no problem getting into the chat room either. There are two ways to get into the chat room. On the extreme left hand side of the kfs website one can click the "k.d. lang Chatroom" under the k.d. lang subtitle in blue. However, this method doesn't seem to work for me at all so I go to the chatroom by this method:

First, go to the main page heading (kennedyflairs kd lang site)----then towards the bottom of the page just above the Help and Info section is the Chatroom section where you can just click on and this works for me all the time.

No need to apologise. I'm just sorry you have lost entry. I am in no way computer saffy to be able to help you. I'm the one that needs to say sorry.

Beppy, thank you but there is absolutely no way I can get in now. I was in a few weeks ago but I have had a long email exchange with the Yuku Help Line over the last week and he has nothing more to suggest.

I get a blank page and though he made various suggestions as to Yuku sites I could go to to try to resolve this, when I have tried to access them , either by directly clicking or by Copying and Pasting them into my address bar, they do not work! They either are blank, take me somewhere different like to my email Server's Home Page or I'm told the address is incorrect.

For the record, I am having a lengthy email exchange with Yuku. They claim there is no problem but in point of fact, I think the Chatroom is no longer functioning.

He did suggest I remove cookies and temporary interner files and update my flash player but that is as far as he can go.

It would be interesting to know whether anyone here can get into the Chatroom without getting an Error Message or a blank page, like me.

Does anyone know what has happened to the Chat Site. Is this another problem with the new Yuku Server?

Click share or embed this video
Click embed
copy
open reply window
hit HTML (it will turn yellow)
Paste
Hit HTML again
and video will appear
I find this much easier for me. Using the insert flash gives you minimum choice of the artist you are looking for plus it brings up other clips that you don't want.

Hit the Share button under the video.
Hit the Embed button that appears to the left of the Facebook and Twitter icons.
Make sure the box that says "Use old embed code" is checked.
Copy the code that's in the box that appears.
In the Yuku post editor, hit the Insert Flash button.
In the toolbar that appears, hit the Add From HTML button.
Paste in the code copied from YouTube, and hit the Insert button.

Hi Abs, I don't know why using HTML doesn't work for you. The way I embed videos is this:

1. Look for the video
2. Click on 'Share' (below the vid), then opens another thingy with 'Embed'
3. Click on 'Embed'
4. Very important to make a tick at 'Use old embed code'
5. Copy this code (it's much larger than the other)
6. For posting on kfs click on the icon left from HTML (Insert flash)
7. Click on the right side 'Add from HTML'
8. Paste the copied code in the box and confirm with 'Insert'

That's it!

I find it impossible to insert videos using HTML although I have done so in the past. I get to the point where I have inserted the imbed code in the box but when I click on INSERT nothing happens.
Here is as far as I can get.

The only way I can now insert a video is by going to the video logo and pasting the name of the video ( not it's address or imbed code) in the box called Video Search that appears below the bar with colour and font choices and then clicking on YouTube to its right. It doesn't always work and give me the correct YouTube though..
Like this.

Can anyone suggest why the HTML method has stopped working for me?

Thanks Wendy-that's really useful. It's very frustrating trying to find help on Yuku now! I did have to contact support recently and they did act quickly but there's no personal touch any more.

There is no longer a Yuku Support Forum. All issues and bugs are reported via a help ticket. Many staff have been sacked, so you can wait a while for a reply. The last couple of weeks, they haven't even answered.

We have an ex-member that used to help out at Yuku Support (before my time) open a help board. He can answer and help with many yuku problems. He's always on the ball when glitches happen.

Shelley, l'm assuming you get the same info as l do. l don't think members are really interested, so l wont post any more info but if people want to know anything then l will answer.

When we are moved to hopefully better servers, it will be rough during that process but better after that. We can hope anyway.

A few of us are having problems with kudos disappearing and comments not showing up in profiles etc. The best thing to do is report these problems (called bugs on Yuku!) here, where they'll be able to check things out:
