1. you may or may not know that kd's training in music was classical. she and her siblings took piano lessons from a canadian nun who put them through their paces. the good sister did eventually advise that kd focus on her voice but she grew up listening to the masters. she often cites this early training as pivotal to her understanding of and love for music.

For me it happened like this. At the beginning of Feb. the 4th I think, I heard by chance an enthusiast review of the about to be released Watershed and a sample Thread. I was done. Bought the c.d. and became addicted for life I am sure. This is the more strange as I am not into pop music generally except a mild interest in Santana, Abba and James Brown. Classical is what turned me on musically. I vaguelyn knew about K.D. as a country singer and as a avowed lesbian ( me too ). But I am learning fast my K.D. for dumbs. I have so much to catch up with , it makes me dizzy. I go backwards from Watershed and it takes some adjustments I find. So many aspects to integrate plus all the articles to read and so on.
