Omigod, I couldn't believe it! I was up against some very good singers and because I was so nervous I really did think that I would be terrible. I had to keep going over the verses in my head. the worst thing was that I was on in the second half and when I was waiting to go on the panic set in because I looked out and saw how many people were there and the President of the University and his people were the judges.
Anyways, so my introduction was made and the intro to Constant Craving came on and I strode out there in my suit and suddenly, all I could see was kd singing live. I really cant explain what came over me. It was really wierd in fact and my friends said I was scarily very similar in voice and looks. I was absolutely elated when they read out the results and I'd won. I had to sing it through again and all the other contestants came up on stage with me. Well, I'm back in one piece and had the most wonderful time. British Airways delivered us safety to Newark Airport to be met by a smiling Valhala, who ferried us to the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York.

After a good night's sleep, we took the open top bus ride around the city. The guide, Sherwood T, was a would-be entertainer and the funniest guy I had ever met. His commentary was so entertaining, I didn't stop laughing the whole four hour ride (although I was the only one on the whole ride who did seem to find him funny!) We went through Chinatown, Little Italy, Wall Street, Central Park etc. etc. The temperature was over 60 degrees F and the sun shone continually. I can't tell you how thrilling it was to see all those sights.

Should I wear a suit etc like she did in that genre, or should I do the whole relaxed Califoniay look? Can't decide. Am very excited tho. I've been practising hard. I'd never be anywhere as good as kd, but I'm gonna do my best, and if it makes my friends smile, then surely thats enough...right?...x
