Drag was the first album of hers that I bought. Me and that album have gone trough some rough times together, cause while I was going trough a really hard times with myself it was the only cd or only music I could listen to.
I bought the rest of them as well, but some mean person stole almost all of my cd's few years back and all I have left is All you can eat and Drag from her.

Hello my darlings- not sure if this is going to work- I'm using my daughter's beast of a laptop as Lucky Granny is looking after the kids, 2 cats and a Boxer puppy. for a week whilst said daughter and husband are in Barbados.
My holiday? Forgotten it aleady already .The dog has reduced my library book to confetti, and eaten the cats' food. Now is my Hour Of Need - you have to soothe my fevered brow with kd-anything. Thank goodness for the ipod.

For a while, in the 90s, it felt as if kd lang was everywhere. Then she was nowhere. Today, she's here, in a hotel room in Cologne, halfway through a European tour of her first album of original songs in eight years. Gone are the model groupies, celebrity friends and media circus. She is older, wiser, more settled. A reincarnation, if you like.

She talks in slow, careful sentences with lots of pauses. With some people, this can feel awkward, but with lang it feels still, calming. I'm not sure if she's finished a thought, so I wait and watch her instead. We've got a new project at the library - we are linking up with local doctors so that they can prescribe book titles for patients who have anxiety, depression - situations like that. The project is called ( you'll never guess..!..) Books On Prescription. I quite like the idea of kd on prescription ( be still , my beating heart). How about " miss chatelaine" when you need cheering up; or her existentialist lullaby ( her description) " the shadow and the frame" to help you sleep. Or " the valley" when you feel lonely, and need to know that there are others out who knpw how you're feeling . Or just listening because it makes you feel happy. Hmmm. Need to take my medicine.....

My name is Marianne. I'm a 54 years old Swiss, now living in Sweden with my wife and two cats. Coming from classical music, my wife (who's listening to every style of music from AC/DC to Mozart, but she's a little bit, hm, let's say obsessed with voices) let me discover the rich variety of pop music. Well, one fine day she played an album of the singer she usually calls "la primadonna assoluta of pop music" - I think, a fan of Jessye Norman couldn't pay a bigger compliment. Of course, she played an album of k.d. lang and she was right: I've never heard such a brilliant voice outside of classical music. I was completely caught up in this voice, the music, the person - and I still am!
I've to say sorry for my bad English, but I've never learned it in school. Obviously some events transpired between the first and second show, but it's personal and no, it's not what you think. It was an odd mixture of embarrassment and elation on my end. Regardless, to say I'm still jazzed would be an understatement.

The concerts were amazing. She was spot on both nights, but had a better audience to sing to on Wednesday. Her voice was in top form, and the songs were simply luscious, with the exception of 'Pay Dirt," which was just plain fun (and must be incredibly hard to sing). We had great seats, in the second and then third rows on different sides of center stage, so we got to see her perform from different angles.
