Hello, just checking in for the first time though I've been reading the forum for several months. Well, it was like this, m'lud. I watched Jools Holland back in May specifically to see the drop-dead beautiful and talented Hugh Laurie doing his blues stuff, and there was this singer whose existence I knew of but whom I'd never seen or heard before, doing two songs. Wasn't desperately grabbed by the first one but then she did one called Constant Craving and it just stuck in my mind, not least because of the passion with which she delivered it. So a week or so later I went looking for it on Youtube, and discovered the 1993 Grammys version. Wow, I thought. Not only a song that grabs you but the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen on two legs. And the rest, of course, is history. Albums, DVDs, youtube, downloads, forums, google....Sorry about that, Hugh.

Just to say my first hello and introduce myself as a long time fan of kd lang.

I first saw kd way back in the nineties at a concert in Bournemoth.UK. Amazing!

I have moved to Europe and I missed her UK visit this year unfortunately, but I heard that her London concert was brilliant!

We would love it, if she could just venture across the English Channel to play here....my current location Vienna!

Hi. I'm not exactly new here. I was a member of kf's MSN group since 2001, but I didn't post there much. Around the time that MSN groups shutdown, my computer died and I got sidetracked by a lot of other things, so I haven't posted or even really lurked here.

I'm 30 years old and live in the USA. I became a k.d. lang fan on November 2, 1998 after watching k.d. on the Southbank Show.

Hi! I'm a Canadian prairie girl who's followed kd and loved her music for decades, but have just recently discovered this interesting group. Thought I'd just stop by and say hello. I've been reading through the site and my - ! what a diverse, articulate and talented group of fans you are!

I have been enjoying kd's new CD and am looking forward to seeing her live at the Jazz Festival when I go to Ottawa in a couple of weeks for a combined business/pleasure trip. I'll be staying with my sister and she bought us tickets as my (very) belated birthday gift from last year. Nice surprise!
I've seen kd before but only in more formal indoor venues, never at an outdoor festival. Can't wait, espeically since I've read all the reviews here and know what to expect. I'm prepared to be blown away.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been lurking but would like to contribute from time to time but must admit to being a virgin. Not only with forums but with kd lang as well. Sounds terrible doesn't it. Anyway, should I show my ignorance on forums, please, please let me know

Anyway, I am an older lady (born pre 1950) and have only just recently discovered the magnificent talents of Ms k d lang. Oh my, what wonderful gifts she has been given. Why I hadn't discovered her before this is anyone's guess because I have always had music in my life. Guess I must have had my head in the sand. Oh well, a whole new adventure is about to start.

I am really looking forward to seeing her live in July in the US though I live in Western Australia. My partner is from Portland, Oregon and so we are going to celebrate Anniversary of 10 years together on July 25 at the Spokane concert which just happens...

Just joinded the kennedyflairs wonderfull treasure website ! i'm really really really happy to have finally found out how to get here. I confess i'm a computer cluts , but I challenged myself to get the chance to thank you all for contributing to show every news about the genius kd lang !

many thanks to you all ! you're making my life really lucky anytime i'm connected here, reading and re- reading, watching and re- watching every post, picture, video ... ! fortunatly, and thanks to all of you I got the chance to get some taste of the concerts unfortunatly broke my legs and couldn't get to her UK tour ! and more unfortunattly I don't think she intends to come to Paris and play in my living room !

Now working as an Artist in the UK, k.d has been an inspiration since my early teens and continues to be.

I love all kinds of music but her songs have seen me through good and bad times.

My name's Jiang Millington. I live in Sweden and I hate snow :-) I'm a journalist/editor bladibla and also work with strategic communication. I can honestly say that music has helped/is helping me to keep sane, being in a reincarnation that totally screws up all the time.

Anyhow. I'm going to the concerts in London on June 2 and 3. Or just the 3. Don't know yet but have tickets for both nights. It would be lovely to meet up with other fans there. I've understood there's a lot of people from the UK at this forum?

hello everybody,

a friend recommended this site and she is right, it's a great place to be for a k.d. lang fan.
it was back in 1997 when i listened to a radio show introducing drag starting with the air that i breathe. i think i was enchanted by the first note k.d. sang. this song is still one of my favourites.

now i'm really looking forward to joining the discussions here.

After being a "quiet reader" for a long time, now i have enough courage, to join in. For me it's a personal challange, 'cause i'm german and my english language skills are really, really bad. But it was important to me to say "Thanks" for all the information and news i got by this message board.

If i write nonsense or curious things, please be tolerant - most of the time it would have something to do with my poor english-knowledges . And it would be very nice to get correction, when i write incomprehensible.

Oh, by the way: my nickname is borrowed from a book which influenced profoundly my mentality - more than 30 years ago - but it's still in my mind.

Hello! I am a true blue newbie. I only discovered k d lang 3 months ago. I am almost ashamed that I have lived both in the UK & US and still have not heard of k d lang till You Tube! Holy mackerel, looks like I have been living under a stone all these years. Now is the time to catch up on all kd songs, albums, concerts news etc...etc...I have been doing that extensively online. I am just happy to join a group of like minded individuals like you all to share info and whatever on kd..I live in Malaysia and the closest k d got to this part of the world is Singapore in 2005, on her Hymms of the 49 Parallel tour. Of ocurse, I was oblivious of k d back then. I do come over to the UK quite often (once a year), I have lived in Bristol, Brighton, and Keele.If k d does come to the UK for her 'Sing Out Loud' concert, I will be on the next...
